Hello, I’m Maria and I live in Stanwell. My life without Jesus was not easy. I felt very down and didn't want to carry on with life.
I had heard about Jesus and what it meant to be a Christian when I came to church. I asked Jesus to forgive me for not taking him seriously and told Him I wanted him to be my saviour.
I was baptised in 2013 to show that I trusted Him.
I put more and more trust in Jesus and I find that my church really helps me.
I feel much better now and want others to find what a difference trusting Jesus makes. Jesus has always been faithful to me in good times and bad. People let you down, but Jesus never does.
I am so pleased I became a Christian; God has made a real difference in my life. I love my family but Jesus has brought me to be part of my new Christian family .

Hello, I’m Adrienne. I live in Stanwell.
My life without Jesus was not easy. I felt very down and didn't want to carry on with life.
I asked Jesus to forgive me for not taking him seriously and told Him I wanted him to be my saviour. I was baptised in 1995 to show that I trusted Jesus.
I put more and more trust in Him. I often pray to God and He has answered my prayers, often very quickly, especially in these last few years. Jesus has always been faithful to me in good times and bad. People let you down, but Jesus never does.
It is an unbelievable experience that I want others to share in. I try to express my thoughts about Jesus to others and hope you are encouraged by these few words. I am so pleased I became a Christian; God has made a real difference in my life. Every day is like a new adventure. He has brought me to be part of a family, the family at my church: Ashford Common Baptist Church.

My name is Gina. I live in Stanwell.
At one time I was very miserable and negative about things. I went to Sunday School in my younger days but the bible didn't seem to make any sense. I was into occultic things and relied on horoscopes, etc. I had very few friends because I really couldn't mix very well with people. My friend who I worked with told me about Jesus and took me to Canaan. Andy and David prayed with me there. Andy used to be my school RE teacher.
I asked Jesus to forgive me for not taking him seriously and told Him I wanted him to be my saviour.
My life turned upside down and a lot of healing took place. It was very painful at the time, but I felt so much better afterwards. Jesus has always been faithful to me in good times and bad. People let you down, but Jesus never does. I’ve found this recently when I became seriously ill. Jesus saw me through it and I do truly believe that I am alive today because of Him.

I was brought up in a Christian home and regularly attended a church in Portsmouth, as well as The Boys’’ Brigade. I’d learnt a lot of ‘bible theory’ but it remained head knowledge. When I was 18 I read that a young king, Josiah, ‘did what was right in the eyes of the Lord’. I clearly sensed that God was speaking to me through those words and I knew that he wanted me to confess and turn away from my sin and follow him. I did just that and began my Christian life. I was baptised at Cosham Baptist Church in February 1970.
The years rolled on, I completed a degree course and joined a company in Feltham. More significantly, I married Eileen and we settled in Ashford. Some years later our daughter was born with a very rare and serious medical condition. We really appreciated the support of our local church, but above all felt a tremendous peace from God that all would be well. We have been through a number of health crises, but our daughter has survived far beyond the age of 5 by which time, previously, all sufferers with her condition died.
We were among the team who planted Ashford Common Baptist Church in 1983. I served as Treasurer for many years, and joined the leadership in 1994. In 1996 I sensed that God was calling me to leave my executive position in a major aerospace company and work solely for Him. It took a while for the call to be fully clear, but in 2000 I was called by ACBC to be pastor. A verse from Jeremiah (29:11) has always been an inspiration: “for I know the plans I have for you”. That’s my experience and as I look towards the future I am sure His plans are good plans – he hasn’t let me down yet!
